Summery
Once a simple archaeologist Derrick Miles was transformed after touching the Circlet of Hestiphus. Now a man of fire and stone Bulwark is nigh-invulnerable, capable of sliding through the earth and erupting into veins of magma.
Background
While on a dig in the Greek islands anthropologist and archeologist Derrick Miles uncovered the Hestaphus Circlet. Upon touching it, the ring bonded with him slipping into his body. As the arcane artifact melted into Miles body, his flesh became stone, his muscle magma and blood flames.
The transformation terrified his dig team and soon rumors spread through Mykonos of the stone giant of Chora. Misjudged as a monster, Bulwark was hunted by the Order of the Sun for years. While he defended himself this drove Miles into a depression. Spending months isolated from any human contact Miles began to see himself as the monster the Order hunted.
During the third invasion, Bulwark turned against his self image to take down a terraforming pylon near his island home and the city of Chora.
After the Invasion Bulwark sank back into the caves that had shielded him for years. The story of Bulwark’s heroism and prosecution became one of the legends of the Invasion. Eventually, the story found its way to Lady Night. The years of persecution resonated with the former villain causing her to seek Bulwark and help console the troubled hero.

While in self imposed exile Bulwark finds himself defending the city of Chora and the Tomb of Homer from Seele Jäger and a band of Neo-Nazi’s looking to uncover the poet’s secrets. Things turn worse when Übermensch Wall soldiers raid the city. Torn between defending the innocent people of Chora, and the secrets buried below it Bulwark fights a desperate battle against the clock.
Appearance
Bulwark towers over most people his body a shifting collection of dark stone platelets outlined by veins of magma. In contrast to this his eyes are a piercing blue.

Combat Notes
As a giant flaming rock monster Bulwark is incredibly tough. He is able to shrug off most Wounds with ease and call upon the mystic forces that make up his body to unleash geysers of lava. When pushed Bulwark is capable of erupting sending lave and stone out to obliterate his foes.
