For fun, let’s start off by going through a few random powers that we skipped and why:
- Personal Potential: This can be represented through taking Specialties such as:
- Beaten Not Broken: Applies when reaching 0 Stamina.
- Focused: Spend 1 Turn “powering up” with no other actions. (This might be the closest to the source image.)
- Prevail: After an ally is Knocked Out.
- Unleashed: Used with any Once Per Session Boons or Advancements.
- Hyper Perching: This is another very specialized power which would generally be covered by any Power with Added Support: Dexterity. It is also commonly paired with some type of leaping New Movement.
- Magical Beam Emission: See Ultra Energy Beam, Metahumans Rising core book, Page 74.
- Rule Bending: Despite the name, a lot of this gets covered under Ultra Human, Metahumans Rising core book, Page 75, flavor to taste.
- Bio-Holy Fire Manipulation: See Pyromancer, Metahumans Rising core book, Page 73.
- Hidden Attacks: Another narrow trick that probably doesn’t qualify as a full power in Metahumans Rising. New Movement allows for this with Out of the Blue, alternatively, taking Meddling and Disorienting, optionally with Limited: Only for the hero’s Attacks. Add lingering to set up a reality bending environment. Nox, Metahumans Rising core book, Page 154, incorporates a lot of this into her larger power.
- Portal Attacks: This could easily fall into a teleporting version of the Hidden Attacks above, or a variation on Nox’s power.
Now, on to the main event!
Coral Constructs are an interesting variation on matter manipulation, allowing the user to alter the shape, size, and density of coral. This is also an implication that the user is also made, at least in part of the substance, thus giving them ample supply. Based on the entry coral constructionists seem capable of creating copies of themselves, or animating golems with this power.

This is a broad power with a lot of options. It runs a bit higher in cost as it covers a manipulation aspect along with personal defense and offensive capabilities. Players may want to customize this more by pivoting away from either the coral golem creation or personal offense aspects, allowing the hero to go deeper into one aspect or the other, then use Willpower to offset the missing elements.
