Currently the Metahumans Rising play test group is running a High Powered Campaign. As High Powered heroes they are roughly on par many of the Avengers, or the DCAU’s take on the Justice League. The play test is using a kind of Metahunans Rising elseworld, using the core setting, but 20 years after the fall of earth. Earth having been consumed by the sentient nano-swarm Grey Matter. The few survivors that managed to get off world fled to one of the Zeus orbital defense platforms, or to the Mars colony that was founded after the Thadmar terraforming event.
This play test game kicked off after a band of scientists, their friends and family hijacked an alien spacecraft and set out to find a more sustainable world.
The characters include:
Michael
Origin: Angel? (Dedication)
Catalyst: Born for a purpose
A possibly cosmic being who believes themselves to be the actual Archangel Michael. With an intrinsic understanding of machinery and nearly indestructible body Michael serves as the ship’s main engineer, and the team’s tank.
Otis
Origin: Mutant
Catalyst: Protecting the Powerless Rabble
Inheriting their grandfather’s ability to manipulate time. Otis is able to speed up, or slow down the flow of time around them, moving at incredible speeds or aging a target to dust. Thanks to his temporal enhanced reflexes Otis helms the ship as their pilot.
Shift
Origin: Alien Infusion (Experiment: Exposure)
Catalyst: Sense of Duty
Kept in cryogenic storage, Shift was a hero on earth, but was infected by Grey Matter’s disassembles. With a glance he understands the makeup of any object and can move the whole, or parts, of it with a thought. Found in stasis, Quinn was able to develop a way to combat the nanobots in his body reawakening him.
Quinn
Origin: Xeno Salvager (Empowered: Collector)
Catalyst: Thrown In My Lot
Kidnapped as a child, Quinn was a slave on an intergalactic raiding vessel. Using the arrival of the colony ship as a distraction Quinn escaped in a self made one man vessel. While she lacks any inherent super powers she has cobbled together a “wrench” from various alien technology. Roughly two meters in length capable, the wrench is capable of manipulating gravity, force, or generating psionic blasts. Although she is not an official member of the crew, everyone needs a local mad scientist.
