While lions may grab the headlines, tigers are the largest feline predators in the world, spanning continents, as the top of the food chain. Ranging in 8 to 12 feet, and weighing in at 250 to 700 lbs, a tiger is capable of taking down prey in quick decisive ambushes. Sadly, the current estimates place the global tiger population at under four thousand, but their beauty and power.
Tigers have a number of advantages to aid them in hunting, from natural camouflage, padded feet for quiet movement, and extremely keen nightsight. That’s not to mention that a tiger is strong enough to kill an adult human in a single swing, and that’s without their claws. Of course, their claws and bite add an additional level of lethality when they strike.
