Crossfire
Campaign: Steel’s Pride
Power Level: Classic
Background
The Lensing conflict changed a lot of people. Mark Jones was no exception. A green recruit he had gone in with the best intentions and come out a man willing to take on any challenge to survive. Somewhere along the way he had traded in the standard issue M-16 for a custom bow. It wasn’t style but rather necessity. The speed and length of the arrows were far better at penetrating the strange energy shields of the Zo forces and Jones had a natural talent for the weapon.
After the war Jones retired to West Virginia where he thought he could live out his days in the old family cabin. It turns out that sleepy mountain towns aren’t as peaceful as one might believe. Quickly picking up a reputation as a man to settle any bar fight Mark found himself the one to come too when something went wrong and the sheriff couldn’t handle things.
Within the year quite retirement had become survival training and aid in search and rescue whenever tourists got lost in the woods. Things remained relatively stable over the years. However, there was a part of him that never stopped believing that one day another war would come.
Nearly a decade on and the retired Ranger never let his training slip. Even going so far as to craft a specially designed bow he named Willow that could be broken down to be concealed or used as a baton. When the Third Invasion did come he wasn’t ready for the real threat.
It wasn’t marauding alien spiders or giant terraforming pylons but the mine foreman and his crew.
For decades the local mine had been the towns main source of income. When the Thadmar invaded though something snapped in the foreman. Trapping workers in the old shafts he tried to take over the town after they were cut off from the city. Donning his old camos Jones slipped into the mines subduing the crazed workers and forman.
There was always going to be another war. Something to dive people over the edge. The foreman had just been the one to make Mark realize the reality of this, and of his training. After rendezvousing with a military dispatch sent to check on isolated towns he accepted his fate. Slipping into the back of the convoy Mark Jones went away leaving Crossfire to fight the battle that was just around the corner.

Combat Notes
In addition to his regular combat abilities Crossfire is an expert in finding and exploiting vulnerabilities in armor. Spending an extra action before attacking Crossfire can halve the Target’s armor opening them up to crippling attacks. Because of this specialty and his forensic talent Crossfire is more than willing to take on the big guys.
